TIP7: Speed your computer
If you have Windows95/98 and less than 32 MB RAM or only 32MB RAM, you probably hear a lot of disk drive noise while surfing.
The reason is that the RAM is not sufficient and needs to move data to the hard drive continuously.
Close all other programs, don't use a RAMdisk and, ideally, install more RAM.
TIP8: Open Multiple Windows
Often, the delay you experience is due to the servers that send you the pages.
But your modem and internet path could bring you more than one page at a time at a ridicule rate. You can browse with 3,4 or as many windows as you want !
Just right-click on the link you'd like to visit and choose Open in New Window. The added advantage is that you can still see the page you came from, which is pretty useful with links lists and search engines answers.
TIP9: Control your cache
If you return to the same Web sites often, it makes sense to have a big disk cache: 5MB or more.
1. In the View menu select 'Internet Options'
2. Make sure the 'General' tab is selected
3. Press the 'settings' button
4. Set the disk space to 5MB or more.
5. Click 'OK' twice
TIP10: Disable useless things
1. Open control panel
2. Double click Network

4. Select Dial-Up Adapter
5. Click Properties button
6. Select Advanced tab
7. Set IPX header compression to yes
8. Set record a log file to no.
9. Click all the OK's
